As I strive to eat healthy and exercise, I have also been looking for healthy makeup products to use on my skin. Up until a few years ago, I really never gave much thought about what I had been applying to my skin every day.
I was thrilled when I was recently contacted by Advanced Mineral Makeup to try one of their foundations. (My sample disclosure is at the end of this post.) When I learned that their entire line is vegan and contains no talc, perfume, parabens, dyes or preservatives, I knew I had to try it! I was given a choice between three different types of foundations: liquid, pressed powder, or loose powder. I chose the Liquid Mineral Foundation because I figured if it's a Hollywood favorite and 100% natural, it's got to be good! :) I also prefer liquid foundations because I have dry skin and a liquid always feels nice. In fact, if you have dry skin and use a mineral liquid foundation, you should use a heavier moisturizer or serum before applying makeup. Before the moisturizer absorbs into the skin, apply the foundation immediately afterward. Mineral makeup products have no fillers, glycerin or mineral oil, so it helps to add moisture. Those with normal to oily skin probably don't need the smoothing slip of a moisturizer.
Advanced Mineral Makeup in Ginger Snap blended beautifully into my skin and jawline. I did apply a moisturizer first, which is always a part of my beauty routine. I had no problems smoothing it over my skin and love the light-weight coverage, which evens out my skin tone, and isn't heavy at all. LOVE!
Overall, Advanced Mineral Makeup is a wonderful all natural product that I can feel good about using. It evens out my skin tone and leaves a natural, flawless coverage. It may cost more than foundations at your local drugstore, but you get what you pay for. In this case, it's a superior product that is all natural and safe for your skin.
