Style, Decor & More: Layering Your Lashes to Pixi Perfection!

Layering Your Lashes to Pixi Perfection!

Well, I have some exciting news! Style, Decor & More has been invited to join Pixi Beauty as an ambassador for their product line! That means, that every month we will receive new Pixi products to try out and share with you! So enjoy today's feature and stay tuned for more Pixi product features to come. Who knows? Perhaps we will even have a Pixi giveaway from time to time. {wink, wink}

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Pixi Beauty, let me give you a little background on the company. It all started when Petra Strand, a makeup artist and product developer with over 20 years of experience, wanted to create an innovative beauty line for the every day woman on the go. She believes in enhancing features while keeping the look natural. It's all about multi-tasking, flaw-fixing, and youth enhancing beauty products. When I say 'youth enhancing', I'm talking about products infused with lush botanicals. Oooh....Love!

My first box from Pixi contained four Pixi mascaras! Being the beauty junkie that I am, it was like receiving an early birthday present! After taking a closer look and reading the material in the box, it explained that the mascaras were formulated to work together (in layers) in order to achieve Pixi-Perfection! Sounded good to me! It was the first time I had ever heard of lash layering, but I was ready to give it a try.

The first step in the layering process is to apply Prime and Protect with Black Lacquer Lash Primer.  I applied a coat of this mascara to the top and bottom of my lashes and allowed the wet formula time to dry. I didn't notice a big difference in volume, but I could see that the primer separated and coated my lashes. After applying the primer base coat, I moved on to step 2.

The second step is Waterproof & Lift Lash Booster Mascara. I could tell at "first sweep" that this mascara is in a league of its own! The formula is amazing and does a fantastic job at lengthening and separating my lashes.

Take a look at the photo below! You can see the result of the Lash Booster Mascara - longer, darker and dramatic peepers! The mascara was super easy to apply, it didn't clump at all, and it didn't flake on my lashes! The waterproof formula holds up to the heat and humidity, too. It's exactly what I've been looking for and will be wearing it on a daily basis.

The third step in layering lashes is to apply Lengthen & Tint Lengthy Fiber Mascara. As the name implies, the mascara is formulated with tiny fibers that are picked up on the bristle wand and distributed on the lashes to build and add volume. The fiber mascara comes very close to the look of eyelash extensions. The only drawback for me, was that the  fibers get into my eyes. I'm not sure why it happens, but it happens with every fiber mascara I have tried. I was really hoping to have better luck with this one, but the same thing happened. It may just be my eye shape. If you are someone who is able to wear fiber mascaras, then you will love this volume building mascara.

The fourth and final step is Define & Detail Lower Lash Mascara. This mascara's small and fine applicator sweeps the lower lashes with full control and its thin formula leaves no smudges or smears.

The Pixi mascaras mentioned above range in price from $11-$16 and are available in-store and online at Target

Overall, I've found a new go-to mascara I'm in love with. While all of these mascaras are great for layering or wearing alone, my favorite is the Waterproof & Lift Lash Booster Mascara!
